L’un des génies les plus fulgurants de l’histoire du jazz en tant qu’inventeur, interprète et compositeur, l’un des créateurs du be-bop qui révolutionna à jamais le jazz en le faisant rentrer dans l’ère de la modernité, l’un des plus grands saxophonistes alto par son habileté technique, sa maîtrise de la sonorité, sa puissance peu commune, son inventivité permanente et son sens de l’improvisation, mais aussi musicien maudit à la conduite irrationnelle, Charlie Parker est avant tout un artiste et l’archétype du marginal et du jazzman par excellence. Il s’est éteint il y a près de 60 ans, mais sa musique est toujours vivante et constamment jouée, elle n’a pas fini de nous éblouir et de nous transporter.
