De Sergueï Rachmaninov à Brad Mehldau, la musique de cet album est également un hommage aux influences du musicien, chaque morceau étant dédié à un pianiste incontournable. Les ostinatos sont autant de jalons qui ponctuent le cheminement musical de cette suite pour piano, et autant d'occasions de découvrir toute la richesse du jeu de Xavier Thollard. Immanquable.
Two years after “(re)compositions” published in 2020 as a trio, pianist Xavier Thollard returns this time in solo piano, around a common thread: ostinatos. From Sergei Rachmaninoff to Brad Mehldau, the music on this album is also a tribute to the influences of the musician, each piece being dedicated to an essential pianist. The ostinatos are so many milestones that punctuate the musical journey of this suite for piano, and so many opportunities to discover all the richness of Xavier Thollard's playing. Unmissable.
