Guillaume DE CHASSY & Christophe MARGUET « The Issue of love »
Guillaume de Chassy – piano ; Christophe Marguet - batterie ; special guest : Thomas Savy - clarinnettes
Après avoir suivi les traces de William Shakespeare (Shakespeare Songs, 2015) puis de Marlene Dietrich (Letters to Marlene, 2018) en compagnie du saxophoniste Andy Sheppard, Christophe Marguet et Guillaume de Chassy bouclent leur trilogie. Pour cet ultime épisode, ils ont écrit des musiques qui surgissent d'une conversation imaginaire entre poètes anglais et français, du XVIIe siècle à nos jours, autour de la Question Amoureuse (The Issue of Love). Incarné dans les deux langues par les voix enregistrées de Lambert Wilson et Delphine Lanson, ce dialogue poétique inspire les envolées du duo Marguet-de Chassy et de leur invité spécial pour ce concert, le grand clarinettiste Thomas Savy.
After following in the footsteps of William Shakespeare (Shakespeare Songs, 2015) then Marlene Dietrich (Letters to Marlene, 2018) in the company of saxophonist Andy Sheppard, Christophe Marguet and Guillaume de Chassy complete their trilogy. For this final episode, they wrote music that emerges from an imaginary conversation between English and French poets, from the 17th century to the present day, around The Issue of Love. Incarnated in both languages by the recorded voices of Lambert Wilson and Delphine Lanson, this poetic dialogue inspires the flights of the duo Marguet-de Chassy and their special guest for this concert, the great clarinetist Thomas Savy.
