Saxophoniste ténor à la brillante carrière, Don Menza a démarré dans l'orchestre de Maynard Ferguson et a joué notamment avec Buddy Rich et Elvin Jones. Ses collaborations ne se limitent cependant pas au jazz, puisqu’on a également pu l’entendre aux côtés de Leonard Cohen, Donna Summer… Ses projets en tant que leader le placent également au rang des plus grands musiciens de sa génération, connu pour ses standards "Groovin' hard" et "Time check". En quartet sur notre scène, servi par une rythmique de grande classe, il nous fait l’honneur de sa venue !
Powerful tenor saxophonist Don Menza started as both a soloist and an arranger with Maynard Ferguson’s Orchestra and collaborated with Buddy Rich and Elvin Jones. His career as a composer is equally successful with pieces such as “Groovin’ Hard” and “Time Check” that have become standard repertoire.
