Il fût d’abord le pianiste du trio Prysm dont le parcours a largement dépassé les frontières du jazz hexagonal avec 4 albums sur le prestigieux label Blue Note. Il lance dans les années 2000 son nouveau projet “Ilium” avec des albums et son nouveau projet en trio avec Tony Rabeson et Sylvain Romano en revisitant les standards à sa façon. Couronné d’une victoire de la musique pour le meilleur album jazz, Pierre de Bethmann après voir joué avec la fine fleur du jazz français (Moutin Reunion, Eric Le Lann, Stéphane Guillaume, Géraldine Laurent, Rick Margitza...) vient nous donner l’exclusivité de son nouveau projet avec des musiciens de haute volée. He was first the pianist of the Prysm trio, whose journey has far exceeded the borders of French jazz with 4 albums on the prestigious Blue Note label.
