MOTEMA 20TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION

Grâce à l'entrelacement sensible et expert de la trompette improvisée et de la guitare flamenco, avec la kora traditionnelle mandingue et les voix du Sénégal, FlamenKora crée une musique multiculturelle intemporelle et enchanteresse, un baume bienvenu en ces temps troublés. Les lignes évocatrices de la trompette de Volker Goetze dansent gracieusement avec la voix et la kora de son nouveau partenaire de duo, l'estimé maître de la musique traditionnelle mandingue, Ali Boulo Santo Cissoko. Le maître de la guitare flamenco Alejandro Moreno ajoute une touche espagnole authentique avec des rythmes entraînants et des couleurs subtiles et imaginatives. En tant que fondateur et producteur du groupe, Goetze apporte à FlamenKora une sagesse particulière, qu'il a acquise non seulement au cours de décennies de dévouement à la musique mandé d'Afrique de l'Ouest, mais aussi grâce à une profonde maîtrise de la composition et de l'arrangement de jazz, et à une plongée récente dans les traditions mélodiques et rythmiques du flamenco et du maqam.

Première performance française ! Une nouvelle révélation du label dont est issu Gregory Porter, Jocy Alexander et Lakecta Benjamin : l'extraordinaire pianiste/compositeur/chef d'orchestre/aranger mongol Shuteen Erdenebuatar. A seulement 25 ans, Shuteen s'est déjà hissée au sommet de la scène jazz allemande, et la scène internationale prend note de son excellent premier album Rising Sun. Le fondateur de JazzWise, Stephen Graham, a souligner le caractère unique de son quartet et la presse française et américaine commence également à en prendre note. Volker Goetze's evocative trumpet lines dance gracefully with the voice and kora of his new duet partner, the esteemed master of traditional Mandinka music, Ali Boulo Santo Cissoko. Flamenco guitar master Alejandro Moreno adds authentic Spanish flair with catchy rhythms and subtle, imaginative colors. As the group's founder and producer, Goetze brings a special wisdom to FlamenKora, which he has acquired not only through decades of dedication to West African Mande music, but also through a deep mastery of composition and arrangement of jazz, and a recent dive into the melodic and rhythmic traditions of flamenco and maqam.

French debut performance! From the label which debuted Gregory Porter, Jocy Alexander and Lakecta Benjamin comes a new revelation: the extraordinary Mongolian pianist/composer/conducter/aranger Shuteen Erdenebuatar. At just 25, Shuteen's star is already rising to the top echelons of the jazz scene in Germamy, (her adopted home) and the international scene is taking note of her excellent debut album Rising Sun (out now.) . JazzWise founder Stephen Graham has remaked that her quautet has that "stand-out-a mile-in-the crowd" factor and French and US press is also starting to taking note.
