Dans ce disque attachant, Gueorgui Kornazov s'intéresse au pays qui l'a vu naître, la Bulgarie. Par les rythmes exposés tout au long de l'album, on entre dans un jazz aux saveurs ethniques remarquablement travaillées. Lyrique et chantante, festive ici et là, par moment presque mélancolique, la musique de Gueorgui Kornazov se déploie avec une belle amplitude. Il faut dire que le tromboniste est particulièrement bien accompagné par une partie de la crème du jazz hexagonal. Les compositions sonnent comme de la musique traditionnelle dans laquelle l'âme slave coule avec ses couleurs contrastées. Le remplacement de la contrebasse par le tuba ajoute une profondeur et une densité intéressantes à la sonorité d'ensemble du disque. Selon le leader, c'est une œuvre musicale qui explore les multiples facettes de l'échelle musicale de Ré», d'où le titre. Une chose est sûre et certaine, le travail du tromboniste et deses collègues est riche de détail et sa musique emplie d'une belle humanité. In this endearing album, Georgy Kornazov takes an interest in the country where he was born, Bulgaria. Through the rhythms exposed throughout the album, we enter into a jazz with remarkably worked ethnic flavors. Lyrical and lilting, festive here and there, at times almost melancholic, the music of Gueorgui Kornazov unfolds with beautiful amplitude. It must be said that the trombonist is particularly well accompanied by some of the cream of French jazz. The compositions sound like traditional music in which the Slavic soul flows with its contrasting colors. The replacement of the double bass by the tuba adds an interesting depth and density to the overall sound of the record. According to the leader, it is a musical work which explores the multiple facets of the musical scale of Ré, hence the title. One thing is certain, the work of the trombonist and his colleagues is rich in detail and his music is full of beautiful humanity.
