Depuis quelques années, Géraldine Laurent a imposé sa personnalité dans l’univers du jazz. Un son d’alto chaud, un phrasé aux découpes très rythmées, un lyrisme flamboyant, un engagement dans l’improvisation qui rappelle de grands altistes de l’histoire du jazz, de Charlie Parker à Eric Dolphy. Après l’album « At Work » en 2019, elle enregistre son dernier opus « Cooking » avec Paul Lay, Yoni Zelnik et Donald Kontomanou, qui sera Lauréat " Album de l'année " aux Victoires du Jazz 2020. On y retrouve l'ardeur, l'énergie et la percussion qui font la griffe de Géraldine Laurent et de ses brillants invités.

For several years now, Géraldine Laurent has imposed her personality on the jazz world. A warm viola sound, a phrasing with very rhythmic cuts, a flamboyant lyricism, a commitment to improvisation that recalls great violists of jazz history, from Charlie Parker to Eric Dolphy. After the album "At Work" in 2019, she recorded her latest opus "Cooking" with Paul Lay, Yoni Zelnik and Donald Kontomanou, which will be Laureate "Album of the Year" at the Victoires du Jazz 2020. We find the ardor, energy and percussion that are the hallmark of Géraldine Laurent and her brilliant guests.
