Il est sans conteste l'un des principaux visages du piano jazz d'aujourd'hui. Dès son plus jeune âge, il dirige ses propres formations, joue en compagnie du saxophoniste Arnie Lawrence, puis accompagne Omer Avital ou encore Avishai Cohen.. Après "Modern Times" et "The Parade", il présente aujourd'hui son projet personnel en trio en toute intimité et proximité sorti sur le prestigieux label ECM.
