Pour ce premier album les réunissant en duo et déjà salué par la compositrice elle-même, Thierry Peala et Verioca Lherm ont eu envie de partager leur passion commune pour l’icône du jazz brésilien : la pianiste-chanteuse- compositrice Tania Maria. Pour cette soirée « inédite », ils présentent une version « augmentée » du projet et partageront la scène avec Julio Goncalves  qui a été pendant 20 ans l’accompagnateur de Tania Maria ainsi qu’avec la flûtiste Amina Mezaache, compositrice et soliste recherchée. Thierry Péala est reconnu dans le monde du jazz vocal contemporain (Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, Bruno Angelin...) et Verioca Lherm est l’une des artistes françaises les plus respectées dans l’univers des musiques populaires du Brésil.

 

This first album brings together Thierry Peala and Verioca Lherm around the music of composer-pianist-singer, Tania Maria. The Duo were keen to share their passion for this icon of Brazilian jazz, who has already applauded their rendering of her compositions. For this « unique » evening they decided to have an augmented version and share the stage with percussionist Julio Goncalves, a fellow traveller of Tania’s for over 20 years, and the stellar flute player Amina Mezaache ! Thierry is a recognised vocalist in the world of contemporary jazz (Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler, Bruno Angelini, Riccardo del Fra, Francesco Bearzatti, Moutin Brothers, Edouard Ferlet) and Verioca is one of the most appreciated French artists in the universe of Brazilian popular music.
