ROUGE is a trio with three bright colors : with Sylvain Didou on the double bass and Boris Louvet on the drums, pianist Madeleine Cazenave leads a vivid sonic painting without losing her way on the canvas.
ROUGE is about colorful musical influences : we navigate through classical reminiscences (Satie, Ravel…) while hearing some timbres of modern jazz groups the likes of Tigran Hamasyan, E.S.T. or Gogo Penguin.
ROUGE plays Madeleine Cazenave’s composition giving them a collective vibration. The melodic lines of the piano are closely intertwined with the bass lines and the percussive accents. These sounds evoke both the passing of a storm and the quest of an inner truth : hypnotic and immersive, contemplative and mysterious, ROUGE takes us on a journey leaving no one indifferent. By joining forces with Label Bleu to release Vermeilles, a second album as ambitious as it is seductive, ROUGE has taken another step forward.
