The Hypnotiks, l’un des groupes phare de soul/funk à Paris revient sur scène en force au Sunsetle 22 juin. Ce collectif old-school expérimenté propose un mélange unique de « downtown soul » et « uptown funk. » Avec le début d’été, The Hypnotiks ont choisi de rendre hommage à la soul de Californie. Pour cette soirée exceptionnelle, le groupe invite Indy Eka et Wolfgang Valbrun–deux compagnons de la route–pour célébrer la tradition soul de cet état « West Coast. » Certes la Californie est tout d’abord connue pour les années « Flower Power, » mais elle possède une longue tradition de la soul et funk comme Sly and the Family Stone, Tower of Power, ou plus récemment Anderson .Paak. Ils seront à l’affiche ce soir, mais ne soyez pas surpris d’entendre un peu des Mamas and Papas également, version soul bien évidemment!
The Hypnotiks, one of Paris’s leading soul/funk bands, return to the Sunset stage in force on June 22. This experienced old-school collective offers a unique blend of « downtown soul » and « uptown funk. » With the start of summer, The Hypnotiks have chosen to pay tribute to California soul. For this exceptional evening, the group invites Indy Eka and Wolfgang Valbrun – two fellow travelers – to celebrate the soul tradition of this « West Coast » state. California may be best known for its « Flower Power » years, but it also has a long tradition of soul and funk, with the likes of Sly and the Family Stone, Tower of Power and, more recently, Anderson .Paak. They’ll be on the bill tonight, but don’t be surprised to hear a bit of the Mamas and Papas too, soul version of course!
