Solaire et hypnotique, alchimique et chamanique, le quintet Aâma explore les frontières du jazz et fait cohabiter les mélodies orientales et les sonorités d’Afrique Centrale. À base d’envolées instrumentales et vocales et d’une pointe de rock progressif, Aâma (« global », « commun » en arabe) fabrique son propre terrain de jeu, plaçant le partage, l’engagement émotionnel et l’improvisation au centre de sa démarche créative.
Solar and hypnotic, alchemical and shamanic, the Aâma quintet explores the frontiers of jazz, bringing together oriental melodies and the sounds of Central Africa. With instrumental and vocal flights of fancy and a touch of progressive rock, Aâma (‘global’, ‘common’ in Arabic) creates its own playground, placing sharing, emotional engagement and improvisation at the heart of its creative approach.
