Fin 2018, le pianiste Alix Logiaco et le saxophoniste Florian Marques créent le projet “Cookin’ With”, animés par la même idée de se ré-approprier le langage du jazz mainstream des décennies 1950 et 1960.
Forts de leur expérience acquise au sien du Bop Mood Quintet de Rémy Labbé et notamment d’un concert en sextet au Chorus Jazz Club de Lausanne avec Pierrick Pédron comme invité de marque, ils veulent faire de “Cookin’ With” un groupe modulable qui a pour vocation d’explorer l’univers musical des artistes qui ont fait les grandes heures du hard bop et du jazz actuel.
Le 28 mai, c’est un programme autour de la musique de l’éminent pianiste américain Fats Waller qu’ils nous proposent.
At the end of 2018, pianist Alix Logiaco and saxophonist Florian Marques created the “Cookin’ With” project, driven by the same idea of re-appropriating the mainstream jazz language of the 1950s and 1960s.
Drawing on their experience with Rémy Labbé’s Bop Mood Quintet, including a sextet concert at Lausanne’s Chorus Jazz Club with guest Pierrick Pédron, “Cookin’ With” is intended to be a flexible group exploring the musical universe of the artists who made the great hours of hard bop and current jazz.
On May 28, their program will focus on the music of the eminent American pianist Fats Waller.
