Réunissant Delphine Deau et Julien Soro, The Other Side of Water est un terrain d’exploration pour l’improvisation et la composition, dans l’intimité singulière du duo piano-saxophone. Observer ce qui existe « de l’autre côté de l’eau », c’est aussi franchir une frontière intérieure, retourner ses habitudes de jeu, inventer de nouveaux échanges par le son. Une musique impressionniste et poétique, dans le sillage des grands duos du jazz moderne — de Wayne Shorter & Herbie Hancock à Greg Osby & Marc Copland.
The Other side of Water is an intimate sax-piano duo bringing together 2 long lasting friends : Delphine Deau and Julien Soro. For this new project, they’re trying to look “on the other side of the water” as they would look on the other side of themselves, trying to bring the opposite of what they usualy do. In a result, we get an original and poetic music inspired by the great duos of modern jazz history – from Wayne Shorter & Herbie Hancock to Greg Osby & Marc Copland.
