La chanteuse et multi-instrumentiste australienne Jody Sternberg présente son nouveau projet en hommage à l’iconique chanteuse américaine Eartha Kitt.
Avec David Lewis à la trompette et à la direction musicale, Cédric Piromalli au piano, Benoît Dunoyer de Segonzac à la contrebasse et Patrick Filleul à la batterie, Jody Sternberg explore le répertoire évocateur et ludique de celle qu’Orson Welles décrivait comme « la femme la plus excitante du monde », mélangeant les langues et les genres musicaux…
Grâce aux arrangements et compositions originales de Jody Sternberg et David Lewis, ce répertoire éclectique devient un véritable voyage musical, à l’image de celle qui a interprété “I Want to Be Evil” et “C’est si bon” mais aussi “Where is my Man”, un des tubes de la vague disco.
Dès son arrivée en France, Jody Sternberg est amenée à travailler aux côtés de divers artistes dont la fanfare féminine Les Pepitas, les Marathonians (A Tropical Soul Adventure), Juan Rozoff (AbalorladaKor!), Arthur H (Négresse Blanche) et Olivier Temime (Streetwise). Elle fait la tournée mondiale du groupe trip-hop anglais Morcheeba, remplaçant la chanteuse du groupe pour promouvoir l’album “The Antidote” sur lequel elle a co-écrit le single “Wonders Never Cease”. Elle participe également aux projets de Marc Collin, Nouvelle Vague et Hollywood Mon Amour.

With David Lewis on trumpet and musical direction, Cédric Piromalli on piano, Benoît Dunoyer de Segonzac on double bass and Patrick Filleul on drums, Jody Sternberg explores the evocative and playful repertoire of the woman Orson Welles described as “the most exciting woman in the world”, mixing languages and musical genres…
Thanks to original arrangements and compositions by Jody Sternberg and David Lewis, this eclectic repertoire becomes a veritable musical voyage, in the image of the woman who performed “I Want to Be Evil” and “C’est si bon”, as well as “Where is my Man”, one of the hits of the disco wave.
As soon as she arrived in France, Jody Sternberg worked alongside a variety of artists, including the all-female brass band Les Pepitas, the Marathonians (A Tropical Soul Adventure), Juan Rozoff (AbalorladaKor!), Arthur H (Négresse Blanche) and Olivier Temime (Streetwise). She tours the world with English trip-hop band Morcheeba, replacing the group’s singer to promote their album “The Antidote”, on which she co-wrote the single “Wonders Never Cease”. She is also involved in Marc Collin’s Nouvelle Vague and Hollywood Mon Amour projects.
