La chanteuse de jazz brésilienne, compositrice et productrice Liz Rosa mêle le riche héritage musical de son pays natal à une esthétique jazz contemporaine et internationale. Née à Natal et désormais installée entre New York et Rio de Janeiro, elle s’est d’abord fait remarquer sur la scène jazz Rio–São Paulo grâce à son premier album acclamé par la critique, co-produit avec Ricardo Silveira. Liz s’est produite dans les plus grandes salles et festivals du Brésil, notamment au Blue Note Rio, Blue Note São Paulo, Clube do Choro, Rio Montreux Jazz Festival et Fest Bossa & Jazz. Elle a partagé la scène avec des légendes de la musique brésilienne telles que João Bosco, João Donato et Roberto Menescal, et a été invitée dans des émissions télévisées nationales de premier plan, comme Som Brasil (TV Globo).
À la scène internationale, Liz est partie en tournée à travers l’Europe, l’Amérique du Nord, l’Asie et l’Amérique latine, avec des prestations remarquables à Jazzahead (Allemagne), Cotai Jazz & Blues Festival (Macau), Festival de Jazz de Punta del Este (Uruguay), Rigas Ritmi (Lettonie), Złota Tarka Festival (Pologne), Hot Club de Portugal (Lisbonne), The Lyric Theater (Toronto), Stowe Jazz Festival et Cola Jazz Fest (États Unis). À New York, elle s’est imposée dans des clubs de jazz emblématiques tels que Birdland, Mezzrow et Smalls, aux côtés de musiciens de renom comme Yotam Silberstein, Chico Pinheiro, Benny Benack III et le pianiste Misha Piatigorsky, son partenaire artistique de longue date. En 2025, Liz part en tournée avec Jair Oliveira pour un spectacle hommage célébrant les 60 ans de Dois na Bossa, l’album emblématique d’Elis Regina et Jair Rodrigues. La tournée débute le 13 septembre au Broward Center for the Performing Arts, en Floride, États-Unis. Elle sort également bientôt son tout
nouvel album, enregistré entre Lisbonne et New York, coproduit par Misha Piatigorsky et Liz elle-même, avec la participation de Benny Benack III, mêlant de nouveaux arrangements jazz de classiques brésiliens à des compositions originales.
Brazilian jazz vocalist, composer, and producer Liz Rosa blends the rich musical heritage of her homeland with a sophisticated global jazz sensibility. Born in Natal and now based between New York and Rio de Janeiro, she first rose to prominence on the Rio–São Paulo jazz circuit with her acclaimed debut album, co-produced by Ricardo Silveira. In New York, she has become a familiar presence at premier jazz venues including Birdland, Mezzrow, and Smalls, collaborating with top-tier musicians such as Yotam Silberstein, Chico Pinheiro, Benny Benack III, and pianist Misha Piatigorsky, her long-time musical partner. Liz embarks on a tour with Jair Oliveira in a tribute to the 60th anniversary of Dois na Bossa, the iconic album by Elis Regina and Jair Rodrigues. The tour kicks off on September 13th at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts in Florida. She is also set to release a new album, recorded between Lisbon and New York, co-produced by Misha Piatigorsky and Liz herself, featuring special guest Benny Benack III, and offering fresh jazz arrangements of Brazilian classics alongside original compositions.
