Issu de la réunion entre les groupes français “Lown” et le groupe Italo-grec “Alonisma, ce quintet international de jazz dont les membres résident à New York, Paris, Istanbul et Athènes cultive un jazz moderne nourri aux cultures traditionnelles grecques, de Turquie et d’Asie centrale. Les compositions pour ce groupe sont proposées par tous les membres, et mélangent les subtilités des maquoms aux rythmes et harmonies modernes du jazz. Palmos a enchanté le public grecs, italien, turc et français ces trois dernières années et propose un premier EP intitulé “Palmos experiment” en 2025.
Born out of a collaboration between the French group Lown and the Italian-Greek group Alonisma, this international jazz quintet, whose members reside in New York, Paris, Istanbul, and Athens, cultivates a modern jazz style nourished by the traditional cultures of Greece, Turkey, and Central Asia. The compositions for this group are contributed by all members and blend the subtleties of maqams with the modern rhythms and harmonies of jazz. Palmos has enchanted Greek, Italian, Turkish, and French audiences over the past three years and will release its first EP, entitled “Palmos Experiment,” in 2025.
