La musique de Perséphone se veut l’écho du chant de cette demi-esclave, confrontée à notre monde contemporain, gouverné par les rythmes et leur rigueur, où la ponctualité est loi. Le dérèglement horlogique, l’étrangeté des heures et des saisons, l’attente géométrique créée par le minutage, mais aussi l’exaltation du moment enfin « hors du temps », la vie déboussolée de Perséphone rejoint la nôtre, entre liberté d’improvisation et contrainte mélo-métrique.
What could be more austere—more strangely deranged—than the fate Hadès holds in store for his wife, Persephone, whose half-freedom tastes of the bitter return to her half-captivity? Between the disarray of clocks, the distortion of hours and the confusion of seasons, her unmoored life drifts closer to ours—a resonance, an echo of the song sung by this half-prisoner, caught between the freedom of improvisation and the weight of melodic constraint. It is in this unstable balance, where time bends and form fractures, that our music finds its breath—wandering, questioning, haunted by cycles, driven by the tension between structure and release.
