Romain Vuillemin est avant tout un guitariste spécialiste du swing manouche et de Django Reinhardt. Il fait ainsi partie du groupe Génération Django qui rend hommage au Maître.
Le voilà au chant sur cet album qui reprend les grands standards du répertoire américain, Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Fats Domino et son « Blueberry Hill » et des traditionnels de New Orleans tel « Saint James Infirmary ». On retrouve aussi le latino « Historia de un amor »
Entouré de trois solides compagnons qui jouent vraiment le jazz, il nous livre en crooner sensible une agréable promenade dans ces standards intemporels nous proposant aussi ses chorus de guitare dont il est un orfèvre. En grand amateur de l’instrument il joue souvent avec des guitares anciennes de l’époque sur certains de ces standards, années 30 à 50. Le son de l’album reste ainsi assez vintage mais avec une vraie production moderne.

Romain Vuillemin is first and foremost a guitarist specializing in Gypsy swing and Django Reinhardt. He is a member of the group Génération Django, which pays tribute to the master.
On this album, he sings the great standards of the American repertoire, including Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Duke Ellington, Fats Domino and his “Blueberry Hill”, as well as traditional New Orleans tunes such as “Saint James Infirmary”. There’s also the Latino “Historia de un amor”.
Surrounded by three solid companions who really play jazz, this sensitive crooner takes us on a pleasant stroll through these timeless standards, offering us his guitar choruses, of which he is a master. A great lover of the instrument, he often plays with vintage guitars on some of these standards, from the 30s to the 50s. The sound of the album remains vintage, but with a truly modern production.
