At the crossroads of contemporary jazz, Arabic poetry and North African heritage, the Soraya Toukabri Quartet delivers music that is both free-spirited and deeply moving. Drawing on Arab-Andalusian traditions, the rhythms of Tunisian Stambeli and the great voices of Arabic music such as Oum Kalthoum and Fairuz, Soraya crafts a world in her own image: fluid, multifaceted and deeply embodied.
